Rebekah Alberga | Vice President, Claims and Corporate Counsel
Vice President, Claims and Corporate Counsel
Rebekah is responsible for leadership of the Claims team at Trisura, managing the department handling both Corporate Risk and Surety Claims. In her Corporate Counsel role, she is also responsible for providing general legal advice to the company. Rebekah brings over a decade of experience in specialty claims management, handling a wide variety of claims, including Liability, Fidelity and Surety claims, with a focus on Directors’ and Officers’ Liability, Employment Practices, Professional Liability, and Fidelity. Rebekah is a lawyer called to the Ontario Bar, exclusively practicing insurance law first as a litigator, and then as in-house counsel at several leading multinational property and casualty insurers. Rebekah holds an LLB from Queen’s University and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and English from Western University.

Susy is the office administrator in our Toronto office and wears many hats as she assists our Toronto operations. Previously, Susy worked in the insurance industry for 10 years, previously being employed by a large multinational insurance company.
Donna Anderson | Vice President, Surety
Vice President, Surety
Donna is responsible for broker relationships and underwriting in the Prairie Provinces. Donna was born and raised in Western Canada, moving from Vancouver, to Winnipeg, to Calgary in 2003. She helped launch Trisura’s Calgary branch in 2006, bringing with her a wealth of experience that began with a career in bond processing. Donna previously held multiple management positions with a leading surety company in western Canada, accumulating the experience to make her an expert in her field. Donna’s idea of a perfect vacation is a guided cycling trip around Europe, learning about the history and culture of the area without having to research on where to go and what to see, meeting the local people as opposed to just the tourist traps, plus get exercise all at the same time.

Ashley is responsible for broker relationships and underwriting of Specialty Insurance Solutions products in Trisura's Calgary office. Prior to joining Trisura in 2017, Ashley was obtaining her Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Calgary. Ashley's idea of a perfect vacation is simple: anywhere with an abundance of sunshine.
Cynthia Attwood | Operations Assistant, Specialty Insurance Solutions (National)
Operations Assistant, Specialty Insurance Solutions (National)
Prior to joining Trisura in 2017, Cynthia worked for a large insurance brokerage, reporting to the Vice-President, Commercial Lines. During her tenure there, she worked on special projects in the Commercial Lines department as well as worked in the Accounting department. Prior to insurance, she worked in media broadcast as Producer and Assignment Editor for two major Canadian news outlets. Cynthia holds a honours diploma in Journalism, Broadcast. Her idea of a perfect vacation is anywhere tropical! She loves sitting on the beach reading a good book in the morning and either swimming or kayaking in the afternoon. Not a bad way to spend the day.
Victor Bandiera | Vice President, Construction Services

Since 2013, Victor has brought his extensive expertise in construction and engineering to Trisura, starting the Construction Services group. Victor utilizes his unique insider perspective that he leverages when performing client reviews, financial reports, project management, surety claims investigations, special project reviews , and the selection and scouting of external consultants, to name a few. Victor’s diverse array of skills is founded in the construction and insurance industry, which he built up after the completion of an engineering degree from the University of New Brunswick.
Caitlin Bartolini | Underwriter, Professional Solutions
Underwriter, Professional Solutions
Prior to joining Trisura in 2017, Caitlin worked for a large multinational insurer for three years, beginning as a commercial service associate then moving to a senior underwriting associate position on the Financial Lines team. Caitlin holds a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Political Studies from Queen's University. Her idea of a perfect vacation is a new experience or adventure with a couple of close friends, anything from a ski vacation in the mountains to a relaxing tropical getaway.
Matt Baynton | Vice President, Surety (National)

Matt joined Trisura in 2007, and facilitates Trisura’s Surety underwriting direction nationally. Matt has held a number of underwriting positions at multinational surety companies before coming to Trisura, where he honed his skills and knowledge of surety. Matt holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfred Laurier University and is a Certified Professional Accountant. If Matt could sit down with any person from history, fictional or real, he would share a glass of whiskey with Sir Winston Churchill. The topic of conversation would be how he used effort and perseverance as keys to success.
Frédéric Beauregard | Manager, Surety
Situated out of Trisura’s Montreal office, Frédéric is a manager of surety, responsible for maintaining and improving broker relationships. Frédéric also provides underwriting for Trisura in the province of Quebec. He joined the company in 2007, after gaining experience working as an underwriter for a multinational surety organization. Frédéric holds a Bachelor of Accounting Degree from the University of Sherbrooke and is a Certified management accountant.
James Bennett | Manager, Executive Solutions

James Bennett is responsible for underwriting Specialty Insurance Solutions in the Toronto office. Prior to joining Trisura, James worked as a Senior Underwriter for a national insurance company focusing on Executive and Professional Solutions. James brings to Trisura over 4 years of insurance industry experience.
Ian Bensted | Manager, Surety
Ian is responsible for broker relationships and underwriting in British Columbia. Since 2005, Ian has been working in the surety industry, building up his experience and expertise through working for a large multinational surety company. Ian holds a BA in Economics. Ian’s idea of a perfect vacation is to spend summertime in Tofino, British Columbia, camping out in a Westfalia, riding mountain bikes every day, having BBQ’s every night.

Kathy is responsible for the underwriting of Specialty Insurance Solutions in the Toronto office. Kathy joined Trisura in 2010 after working for a large multinational insurance company, bringing with her a wealth of industry experience. Kathy is an expert in the areas of Directors’ and Officers’ Liability, Professional Liability, and Fidelity.
Shannon Buckley | Underwriter, Developer Surety
Underwriter, Developer Surety
Shannon is part of Trisura’s surety team and is responsible for underwriting both developer and contract surety within Ontario. After a successful co-op placement with Trisura, Shannon became a permanent member of the team in 2014. She graduated from Brock University with an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration. If Shannon found herself in the unfortunate situation of being stranded on a deserted island with nothing but one unlimited supply of food, she would choose to have sandwiches because of the endless possibilities!
Michael Campbell | Marketing Coordinator
Michael joined Trisura in 2015 as a member of the Strategic Initiatives department. Michael is an experienced Marketing Coordinator who is part of the team that manages Trisura’s social media accounts, event planning, and quarterly newsletter. Michael also writes for various aspects of the company website, including blog posts and lines of copy for advertising. He graduated from the University of Toronto with a Honours Bachelor of Arts degree with a specialization in English. If Michael could spend a day with any person from history, fictional or real, it would be with Ernest Hemingway. They would visit cafes and bars, watch bull fights and boxing matches, all the while listening to stories about the real people that inspired his writing.
Ken Carlstrom | Senior Vice President, Specialty Insurance Solutions

Ken is responsible for running the branch operations for the Specialty Insurance Solutions division. This includes oversight of the different regions across Canada (Toronto, Montreal, Halifax, Calgary and Vancouver), and helping to establish the strategic direction of the division. Ken is also on Trisura’s Executive Team which sets the strategic direction for Trisura overall, and on the Broker Strategic Initiative Leadership Team, managing our approach to our most important customers – our brokers. Ken has a wealth of experience in the specialty insurance industry having started his insurance career in 1995. Prior to opening up Trisura’s Vancouver branch in 2006, Ken worked as an Assistant Vice President of a leading multinational property & casualty insurance carrier, where he helped steer the strategic direction of the division across Canada. Before his foray into the world of insurance, Ken worked in the financial services sector for a large international investment firm. If Ken could spend a day with any fictional character or historical figure (past or present), it would be with Jack Nicholson. The topic of conversation wouldn’t matter, since the joy would come from hearing some classic Nicholson dialogue, and of course, some of his most memorable lines from The Shining (Heeeere’s Johnny!), A Few Good Men (you can’t handle the truth!), or a handful of other classics.

Prior to joining Trisura, Grant held a number of underwriting positions at a national insurance company, focusing mainly on the construction sector. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Guelph and his CIP designation.
Alastair Cartwright | Senior Underwriter, Developer Surety
Senior Underwriter, Developer Surety
Alastair develops and maintains broker relationships with the goal of growing the developer surety line, in addition to underwriting and monitoring new and existing files. Prior to joining Trisura in 2017, Alastair held a number of developer surety underwriting positions at a large Canadian insurance company, and spent a number of years as an operations analyst at a global reinsurance company. He holds a Masters of Business Administration from McMaster University, a Bachelor of Management and Organizational studies from Western University and the A.C.S.B. designation from the Surety Association of Canada. The perfect vacation for Alastair consists of spending a relaxing week at the cottage with family and friends.
Darlene Chin | Assistant Vice President, Property & Casualty
Assistant Vice President, Property & Casualty
Darlene is responsible for the strategic leadership, underwriting direction, product roll out, management and growth of the Property & Casualty portfolio on a national basis. Prior to joining Trisura in 2017, Darlene held roles at the AVP level and in underwriting for several large multinational insurance companies. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in risk analysis, portfolio management, product development and business development. Darlene holds a Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Waterloo, as well as the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation.
Julia Chun | Accounting Clerk
Julia is responsible for accounts payable and assisting in accounts receivables. Prior to joining Trisura in 2016, Julia was an accounting clerk for the University of Toronto Scarborough, where she gained full knowledge of the accounting cycle. Julia is close to completing her pursuit of a CPA designation through the School of Continuing Studies at U of T.
Jennifer Conforti | Human Resources Coordinator
Human Resources Coordinator
As the Human Resources Coordinator, Jennifer is responsible for the management of all programs and initiatives to help drive engagement at Trisura. She assists the HR team with all things related to people operations at Trisura including training and development, recruitment, onboarding, compensation, wellness and other employee programs. Prior to joining Trisura in 2017, Jennifer worked in talent acquisition for a multinational corporation, managing the multi-faceted new graduate recruitment process. Jennifer has a Bachelor of Human Resources Management degree from York University and is in the process of obtaining her Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) designation. Jennifer's idea of a perfect vacation is to visit Lake Louise, which has always been a life-long dream. The trip would consist of staying at the Fairmont hotel with a room facing the lake and exploring the area.
Andrew Dang | Senior Business Analyst, Surety

Andrew liaises between Trisura’s business units and the systems team with regards to new and existing insurance applications. Andrew completed a 12-month co-op placement as a Financial Analyst at Trisura’s Calgary location before heading east to join the Toronto team in 2013. Andrew attained his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary, majoring in Finance.
Wendy D’Angelo | Human Resources Advisor
Human Resources Advisor
Wendy is responsible for the full range of Human Resource initiatives at Trisura, including recruitment, learning and development, culture and engagement, and program development. Wendy holds a bachelor of Arts from Lakehead University with a major in French, a postgraduate certificate in Human Resources Management from Humber College and the CHRP designation. Wendy practiced acupuncture for 5 years after studying in both Toronto and Beijing, and has lengthy experience working in the public sector. Wendy is very active in the Human Resources Professional Association, volunteering on the Events Committee and mentoring other HR professionals. Wendy’s idea of a perfect vacation involves research and planning her own itinerary, learning about local language and culture, and extensive wandering.
Sian Davies | Business Analyst, Risk Solutions

Sian is responsible for program analysis and underwriting in the Risk Solutions product area. Prior to joining Trisura in 2013, Sian worked in public service as a Financial Analyst. She has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Ottawa with a Specialization in Accounting. She has also obtained her CPA, CMA designation. Sian’s idea of a perfect vacation is anywhere that she gets to explore something new, and perhaps do some Scuba diving while she’s there.
Morgan Dawson | Underwriter, Surety
Morgan works in Trisura's Calgary branch as a surety underwriter and is responsible for broker relationships in the prairie provinces. Prior to joining Trisura in 2017, Morgan worked as a financial analyst at a midstream pipeline company in the oil and gas industry, as well as holding a position at a large national bank. Morgan holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in finance. His idea of a perfect vacation is a place where it's just as easy to find adventure, explore and be active as it is the find great beaches, golf courses and a long happy hour.
Michèle Desjardins | Claims Counsel
Michèle handles claims out of the Toronto office. Prior to joining Trisura in 2017, Michèle worked for an insurance management company in Ottawa before articling with the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. She holds a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Ottawa, during which she completed two co-op placements. Michèle proceeded to obtain her J.D., at the University of Ottawa and was called to the bar in 2017. If Michèle could only have one consumable item for the rest of time, it would be some form of cake - cupcake, cheesecake, whatever!

Stuart manages surety and warranty claims, providing general legal counsel under the direction of the VP Claims and Corporate Counsel. He has extensive experience managing surety, warranty, and other specialized insurance claims. Prior to joining Trisura in 2014, Stuart held the position of AVP Claims for a multinational insurance company. He holds a bachelor’s degree from McGill University and was called to the Bar in Ontario in 2002, after receiving his law degree from Osgoode Hall. If Stuart found himself stranded on a desert island, the one food he would choose to eat for the rest of eternity be poutine…although it might not be so long before the cheese curds caught up to him.

Claudia is responsible for providing extensive support to the entire claims team at Trisura, her expertise for in-house Counsel, and administrative support to multiple departments. She has an extensive background in customer service and administration, having previously worked for a Vancouver-based provider of finance and insurance products in the automotive sector. If Claudia was stranded on a desert island with nothing but one source of food, she would choose to have her own personal pop-up Jugo Juice stand, serving endless Green Protein shakes- hold the tropical fruit and make it with coconut water and kale. Fruit, vegetables, protein, and hydration!
Jennifer Finnell | Vice President, Programs and OnLine Solutions
Vice President, Programs and OnLine Solutions
Jennifer is responsible for the management of our national Programs and OnLine Solutions. Based in our Toronto office, Jennifer oversees the underwriting and administration of Trisura’s Specialty Insurance Solutions programs and is the first point of contact for our brokers on program business. Jennifer also manages our OnLine programs and products. Jennifer joined Trisura in 2008, bringing with her a multitude of insurance industry experience, both as a specialty lines underwriter and a broker. Previously, Jennifer worked for a national specialty lines insurance company as a Senior Underwriter and her duties revolved around Professional Liability risk analysis, portfolio management, business and insurance product development, as well as staff training. As a broker, Jennifer specialized in many facets of Property & Casualty, Professional Liability and program business, including Architects / Engineers, Insurance Brokers, Lawyers, and Media & Entertainment. If Jennifer could spend a day with any fictional character or historical figure (past or present), it would be with Karen Kain, former Canadian ballet dancer and current Artistic Director of the National Ballet of Canada. The topic of conversation would be her fortitude, willpower, and how she managed to reinvent the stodgy National Ballet of Canada while simultaneously remaining popular, respected, and employed by the very same institution.
