Privacy breach resources and services will help insureds avoid privacy breaches and mitigate damages should they occur

TORONTO, ON. August 29, 2014 — Almost daily, news of a privacy breach makes headlines with loss of sensitive information like Social Insurance Numbers, email addresses and passwords, and other confidential information. Particularly at-risk are those businesses that manage sensitive information like insurance brokers, personal counsellors, property managers and financial institutions.

As the competitive landscape changes and the risks continue to shift with developments in technology and connectivity, privacy breach solutions will also need to be tweaked to keep pace.

Over the past three months, Trisura has been working with Habitat for Humanity GTA to organize a day where Trisura employees can use their “Volunteer Days” to make a difference. Last week, a team of ten volunteers from Trisura, helped Habitat build homes in the Greater Toronto Area. Guided by an experienced Habitat volunteer, they spent the day hammering, sawing wood and working together framing walls to be used in town houses being built in Brampton.

Habitat’s Corporate Adopt-A-Day is a one-of-a-kind opportunity. It allows corporate teams to spend the day building homes for hardworking, low-income families in the GTA. Once volunteers arrive on site, they are suited up in safety gear, split into smaller groups, and instructed on the various tasks. It is a safe and fun environment with no construction experience required!

Habitat of Humanity Greater Toronto Area (Habitat GTA) is a non-profit housing organization that mobilizes volunteers and community partners to provide affordable housing and promote homeownership as a means to breaking the cycle of poverty. By owning their own home, families are able to achieve greater stability, and improve their overall health, while building equity for their future.
