2016 is a brand new year…and with it comes some exciting news from Trisura. You’ve told us that doing business with Trisura exceeds expectations, that our commitment to service is second to none, and that our people are exceptional. You’ve also said that you’d like us to offer more products. It’s time to put our money where our mouth is. We’re pleased to announce two brand new hires to help us expand our product offerings.

 

 

Tina McAvella joins us as VP, Product Innovation and Development. She brings a wealth of experience to the Trisura team, having worked for two multi-national insurers, with her most recent role being Chief Underwriting Officer for commercial property & casualty products. In the 12 years prior, Tina worked on the brokerage side. She fully understands, appreciates, and supports the importance of the broker’s role. Tina will lead our initiative in exploring and launching new products and services, while at the same time offering support to our current product line leaders as they look to continue developing and expanding our existing product mix.

 

 

We’re also very pleased to welcome Jennifer Downham as our new Manager of Casualty Solutions. Jennifer’s extensive experience in the commercial property & casualty market will help lead Trisura into the casualty space on a national basis, working closely with our branches and brokers in developing and growing this line of business.

The new year also brings about the renaming of our Corporate Risk department to Specialty Insurance Solutions– a title that more accurately reflects our focus on the specialty lines marketplace and our dedication to becoming the pre-eminent provider of specialty insurance products in Canada.

Furthermore, our e-commerce portal has also been renamed to Trisura OnLine for quick and easy reference. E-commerce capabilities are important to us strategically and as a differentiator, which is why we’ve put together a steering committee comprising of both business and IT leaders. Their focus is to deliver an exceptional user experience, and to assist us in significantly growing our e-commerce business in an operationally efficient manner.

We grew our business 15% in terms of top line year over year, delivering our most profitable year ever in operating income.
