TRISURA’S E-BOND PLATFORM

Q: How do I access Trisura Online’s e-Bond platform?
A: You can access Trisura’s e-Bond platform by logging in to Trisura Online here. If you don’t yet have an account, you can select “Sign Up” and create one.

Q: What is the cost to have an e-Bond processed through Trisura Online?
A: There is no cost to use Trisura e-Bond. This is a free service that we are pleased to offer to all of Trisura’s existing brokers and contractors.

Q: Is Trisura e-Bond accepted by owners and electronic tendering service providers?
A: Yes, Trisura e-Bond can be used with any provider and owner that accepts electronic bonds. Further, the Surety Association of Canada has assessed Trisura e-Bond and meets all of the criteria for an electronic bond provider.

Q: What does the e-signing process look like?
A: The broker uploads the bond(s) to be signed to Trisura e-Bond, then uses a signature placement tool to prepare the document. Contractor information is added to the bond(s) and then the bond(s) is sent to the client with the click of a button. The contractor then receives an email with an embedded and secure link that they can click to sign the bond(s). Once signing is complete, the contractor takes the e-bond and submits it to the owner.

Q: Can documents be signed using a mobile device?
A: Yes, once signature and seal placeholders are positioned over the bond(s) by the broker and are sent out via email, the client is able to sign the document on their mobile device by touching the location that their signature placeholder was placed.

Q: Are contractors required to sign-up or register for an account in order to sign the bond(s)?
A: No, contractors are not required to sign up or register for any accounts. Once a bond is sent by the broker to the contractor, they simply click the link embedded in the email and they are ready to sign.

Q: Are contractor seals required? How are they affixed onto the bond(s)?
A: A digital image of the contractor’s seal is required to be uploaded and managed by the broker. Once a seal is assigned to a Contractor, the seal will be affixed to the bond as they are e-signing the bond. If the contractor needs to purchase a digital seal, they can do so at https://prestodirect.com.

Q: Are Trisura’s e-Bonds secure?
A: Industry-leading software is used to verify the integrity of a document and the signatures within to ensure a secure electronic document is delivered to owners.

Q: What is the size limit per document?
A: The maximum file size per document is 10 MB.

Q: How can an Obligee verify a Trisura e-Bond is valid?
A: The e-Bond can be uploaded & verified online here at Trisura’s e-Bond check page.

Q: How are documents stored?
A: The documents are stored within the OneSpan database.

Q: How are the documents delivered?
A: After the bond(s) is/are signed, the client can then download the signed bond(s) and then submit the file to the appropriate electronic tendering service providers (MERX, Biddingo, etc.). The e-Bond must be submitted as its own file and cannot be tampered or changed otherwise the owner will not be able to validate the e-Bond.

A: The following browsers are supported by Trisura Online e-Bond (cookies-enabled):
